A week before the move

  • Pack your things into boxes, or book movers who offer packing — about ₾30 an hour on top.
  • Label the boxes: kitchen, bedroom, fragile. That saves hours of hunting for a fork.
  • Check access at the new building. Movers hate discovering on the day that the lift is broken and it is the seventh floor.

What it costs

A two-room flat takes two movers three to four hours. The standard Tbilisi rate is ₾25–35 an hour per person. Transport: a Gazelle van is ₾80–120 an hour with a driver, or ₾200–250 as a fixed price. All in, a move across town comes to ₾250–400.

Hourly or fixed — which to pick

Hourly works out better for a short, predictable move: one flat, nearby. Fixed is better for anything unusual — a piano, a distant suburb, several stops. On an hourly rate it pays the crew to work slowly; on a fixed price it pays them to work fast. Choose according to your scenario.

What movers do not do

Movers carry things; they do not assemble them. Dismantling and reassembling furniture is a separate service, or a second specialist. They also do not insure fragile items: you pack the plates, they carry them. If something breaks in their hands it is a grey area — agree the terms in advance.

Moving in Batumi

Batumi rates run 10–15% higher because of the tourist market, and there are fewer vans — mostly private owners with a minibus. A Tbilisi–Batumi intercity move costs ₾500–800 plus movers at both ends. Check in advance that the vehicle is permitted for intercity work.

Finding a crew on xFix

In the "Movers and relocation" category you can filter by city and by tag: office move, home move, movers only, piano and heavy items. That immediately filters out crews who do not do your kind of job. In Tbilisi you will usually get four or five responses within half an hour.
